It retains the skill and competitiveness of traditional Dragon Boat sports, breaks the limitations of Dragon Boat sports season, and has more speed and passion. It is a brand new ice sport that combines competitiveness, teamwork, and entertainment.

In order to let more people all over the world share the new sport of ice Dragon Boat, the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation (IIDBF) was founded in 2016 by Luo Zhongyi, a senior Dragon Boat man. IIDBF has formulated the competition rules and referee regulations of ice Dragon Boat.
